Our Story

Everyone deserves a good night’s rest

Having been a troubled sleeper for years, no one understands this statement better than our founder. But a soft mattress pad she received as a gift led to a chance discovery that would change her sleeping habits forever. She repurposed the mattress pad and hand-stitched a cloud-soft yet supportive pillow that offered ample neck support and comfort.

She loved it so much that she made more for her family and also shared the story of how a simple, repurposed item helped her as a troubled sleeper in a Facebook Group. The story garnered a lot of attention and she even received requests to buy these pillows. And thus, our ultra-fluffy, supportive cloud pillows were born.

However, the beginnings of Charmed Life HOME Co. trace back to specific experiences in her early life and career. Working in the travel industry, she fell in love with the hospitality and comfort that luxury hotels brought to people’s lives and always tried to recreate that level of coziness and elegance in her home.

Years later, she went on to pursue her 10-year career in design—art, fashion, and interior—rekindling her childhood passion for the art of hand stitching. That’s why starting her small business crafting luxurious pillows was such an obvious decision.

Our Inspiration

Our founder has always been inspired by Kandi Burrus’ ability to turn any negative incident into a positive (and profitable) one. Finding light in the darkness is one of the philosophies that we Stick by as a brand. Even our tagline, “Living a charmed life,” was a facetious comment that we “repurposed” into a confident, bold statement that we and our customers resonate with.

She also wanted to incorporate nuances of her second home, Harbour Island, into the brand. She fell in love with the laid-back vibe of the island, the warmth of the people, and the soothing sea breeze, and wanted to share them with the rest of the world. With every pillow we design—right from the soft, breezy fabrics and natural fillings down to the iconic Briland rooster emblem—we aim to bring a hint of Harbour Island to your home or hotel.

Embrace Pillow (3D Pillow)

Designed for those who prefer additional neck support, this pillow features a soft suede insert that wraps around, providing structure and consistent support for both back and side sleepers. The outer layer with our iconic quilted cloud pattern is waterproof, preventing spills from seeping into the pillow. The middle cooling layer wicks moisture away quickly and stays cool and airy – almost like a crisp Bahamian sea breeze. The innermost layer is a breathable canvas with a filling of either wool or duck and goose feathers.

Haven Pillow (2D Pillow)

A soft, lofty pillow with our innovative diamond insert that provides a gentle, supportive lift at the center. The pillow is encased in a waterproof fabric layer with our charming quilted cloud pattern that protects it from moisture and spills, providing a fresh feeling through the years. Beneath this is our cooling layer that prevents the pillow from trapping heat, keeping you comfortably cool throughout your sleep. Finally, the canvas inner layer holds your choice of wool or duck and goose feather filling.

As you lift away the exterior waterproof layer, you’ll find a cooling middle layer that keeps heat and perspiration away and stays as cool as an evening Bahamian sea breeze. The pillow filling is your choice of wool or a mix of duck and goose feathers that are encased in our inner canvas layer.
